One of the first things I came across was this thought provoking poster,
shown above, designed by Deborah Charnley. What do you think?
Deborah is a member of the Equity Young Members' Committee. She is
standing in the current elections in the T.I.E. and Young People's Theatre box.
The other candidates, in this section, are Caryl Griffith and Andy Medhurst.

A member has asked: "Briefly what does Equity mean to you?"
Well I am able to summarise in one word "Family".
When I joined Equity I felt as though I had really started on my showbiz career. Overnight, by going to Variety Branch Meetings, I became friends with fellow professionals and received advice, encouragement and information.
Friends you make in our business usually stay with you for life. They may have moved to others areas to work,
but you still remember them fondly and keep in touch whenever possible. I still have mementoes that have stayed with me for many years.
My collection is still growing......
I thought you might like to see some......

The late Peter Denyer actor, scriptwriter and producer, gave me this lucky mascot when I was staying with Peter and Claire Sutcliffe whilst presenting the BBC Radio One Breakfast Show in 1971. Since then "Froggy Frog" has travelled everywhere world-wide with me.	Greg Edwards, the legendary pioneer of soul, gave me this bronze statue when he took the memorable decision to move from Manchester to London. Greg then ran Philadelphia Records (The Philly Sound) and presented shows on BBC Radio, Capital currently Gold.

NEVER BEFORE PUBLISHED

Often we receive things, because of friendships, which we very rarely let others know about. They are personal between fellow professional "family" friends. I have a collection of hand written letters from Kenneth Williams, which I take delight in reading whenever I am feeling in need of a laugh and reality check. This is the first time I have made any available....and it will probably be the last :)
I hope it gives you a similar "laugh and reality check".

I have been asked: "if you were not standing, who would you vote for as President?"
Well I do know who I would vote for, but I felt it only fair to email them and ask if it was OK to mention their name.
Who knows my support may harm rather than help their chances?
But my reply becomes a moot point, as I did not receive a reply to my email....
so I believe it is fairer not to say, don't you?
