Dave Eager: C.V. Highlights

Whilst qualifying as a Biology teacher Dave joined a band from Wrexham, North Wales "Dave Eager and the Beavers"  with Roy Mack.  This start in showbusiness led to Dave becoming  a disc-jockey and for many years assistant to Sir Jimmy Savile OBE., presenting numerous BBC Radio One Programmes including : The Breakfast Show, Speakeasy, Radio One Clubs.  Dave also hosted BBC local radio and The Millennium Tynwald 1979  for Manx Radio  - Isle Of Man at which HRH Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth presided.

In the seventies Dave compered two nationwide tours of the "Bay City Rollers" and counted Marc Bolan, Elton John, John Reid  and David Bowie amongst his friends.  Additions August 2003:- Fantastic to see Angie Bowie looking so vibrant and fab on recent BBC TV programme - February 2005:- Angie popped along to the 51st Annual Tuscon Gem Show.
As presenter of Tyne Tees Television "The Geordie Scene" Dave worked with all the leading seventies pop artistes. Strange but true - a record Dave produced in 80's  "Electronic Ensemble" with TV Producer - Songwriter Peter Baker called "It Happened Then" www.songnet.co.uk  is now apparently regarded as "classic",  an electronic first,  recently covered by "Plastique de Reve" - Germany. During the 90's Dave produced several popular country music albums including "50 Shades Of Country" - Sheila G White.

As well as numerous summer season gigs, Dave's TV  audience warm-up work credits include: "Catchphrase",  "Today's the Day", "Wheel of Fortune", "Style Challenge", "Blockbusters", "Carlton Live",  and ITV's live "Jonathan Dimbleby - Ask the Prime Minster".  Dave's production credits include coordinator for "Coxon's Kitchen College"(1999)- www.alancoxon.com , "Here's One I Made Earlier" (1997/8), "Stars in Their Eyes" (1991) and "The Gong Show" (1988).  Dave continues to produce music and disc-jockeys regularly at north west UK Venues. His career as a D.J. began at the New Century Hall and Belle Vue - Manchester in the late sixties and went on to include Blackpool Central Pier, Tiffanys, Ritz, BBC Radio Manchester, over fifteen years at Philips Park Hall and twenty years - ongoing - for The Smith Knight Fay Group. For the past twenty-two years Dave has been a "Variety and Light Entertainment" Councillor on the governing body of British Actors' "Equity" Council, (re-elected for 2004 - 2006), and is a former Vice-President (1992 - 94). Dave was seven votes short of re-election  to the Equity Council July 2006 - July 2008 and this result,  which found complete astonishment in some quarters, in fact liberates Dave so he may  enjoy the freedom and opportunities of being an "ordinary" member.
